Mental Health Therapy
-
I cultivate a gentle and trauma-informed environment in which to process pain, develop competency, and embrace new rhythms and norms. As a relational therapist, I believe that some of the most important work we do occurs within the context of a supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship.

This allows me to work with a variety of clients and allows you complete confidentiality without labels.

I also offer a limited number of sliding scale slots - if you are interested in this option please let me know.
FAQs

First of all, welcome. I often tell clients, “I wish everyone could be in therapy.” I recommend most folks begin with weekly appointments as we get to know one another. During the first few sessions, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, where you need support, and a bit about your life. We move at your pace, and we work together to set realistic, meaningful goals for our time together.

The Hearth Collective is currently a 100% virtual practice - that means you can join your telehealth session from anywhere in Washington State, including your bedroom, your backyard, or even your (parked) vehicle. I usually join sessions with a warm mug of tea, and I encourage all my clients to find little rituals that make our time feel welcoming, safe, and familiar. Come as you are!
Not feeling particularly tech-savvy? That’s okay - my clients receive access to an accessible, HIPAA-compliant meeting platform, which we will review during your free consultation.

In the trenches of early parenthood, it can feel impossible to set our little ones down. If you need to soothe, feed, baby-wear, or pump for your child mid-session, know that I’ve been there too.

Nope! While I specialize in supporting moms at various stages of their parenting journeys, I also love working with folks navigating life transitions, vocational worries, persistent depression, anxiety, and spiritual hurt. I only see clients 18+ but I’m happy to provide referrals to child therapists if needed.

The honest answer is that it depends. Folks come to therapy with different goals, expectations, and life circumstances. Some clients find that a few months of therapy meets their needs, while others benefit from a longer-term therapeutic relationship lasting several years. I deeply value client self-determination, so we will collaborate throughout the process to discuss the expected length of therapy and regularly revisit treatment goals to ensure our work remains meaningful and effective.

I choose not to be paneled with insurance, which means I am not considered an “in-network provider.” Working independently of insurance companies allows me to provide care that’s guided by your needs, not the fine print of your insurance policy. Insurance companies require diagnoses, detailed documentation, and impose limits on session length and frequency. By working outside of insurance, I’m able to offer more individualized, flexible, and confidential care.
Many insurance plans require therapists to assign a diagnosis and share ongoing treatment information. By not participating in insurance panels, I’m able to protect your privacy and collaborate with you on goals without external pressure or limitations.
While I don’t bill insurance directly, many clients use out-of-network benefits. I’m happy to provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

There’s a LOT of jargon in the mental health space. A superbill is essentially a detailed receipt for therapy services. You can submit the superbill to your insurance company to request reimbursement to cover part of the cost of your sessions. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your specific insurance plan, but many clients are able to recoup some money.
Submitting the superbill is optional and is the client’s responsibility. I’m not able to contact your insurance company or guarantee reimbursement, but I’m happy to provide the superbill and answer general questions about how it works.
Insurance plans vary widely, so I recommend contacting your insurance company directly to ask about out-of-network mental health benefits, reimbursement rates, and any deductibles that may apply. Here are some specific questions you might want to ask:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What percentage of the session fee will be reimbursed?
Is there a maximum amount you reimburse per session?
Is there a limit to the number of sessions covered per year?
What is my deductible, and has it been met?
Do I have a copay or coinsurance for therapy?
After meeting my deductible, what will I likely pay per session?
How do I submit a superbill (online, mail, app)?
How long does reimbursement usually take?
Does my plan cover telehealth therapy?
I understand that cost is an important factor when selecting a therapist and that it can limit access to care. My standard fee is $175 per 50-minute session, but I do reserve a limited number of sliding scale slots for folks under financial strain. Please feel free to explore this option with me during our consultation call, or at any point in your therapy journey.
